Clay was at-bat for baseball, and must've let go of the wiimote, and the strap snapped (it was the old kind) and CRASH. The danged window was OPEN, if he'd gone a foot lower he'd've just taken out the screen. Sigh! He feels awful about it. I'm gonna go check some salvage houses, see if there's any windows that match the size. It's an old-style hung (with counterweights) window, with beautiful wavy old glass (really thick glass, actually... I was surprised how thick the pieces were).
Our first floor glass is like that - its on reason we haven't replaced the windows. (Ours aren't in good shape, but, it would be hard to get anything that looked at all period on our budget.)
Its a great picture, though, with the wiimote just stuck there. cool. Actually.
Salvage houses is a great idea. I'll bet that someone else has at least a pane of glass that would fit.
you just have to replace that square. should be very easy, just need someone to come out and do it. it can be done in place. taking the whole sash out would be a pain. yes it was an accident but clay should pay (or partly)to have it fixed.
I'm really sorry this happened to you folks. :( I've gotten replacement straps for all of my Wiimotes; now might be the time to do that for yours too. :)
