International Boob Sign

Mothering Magazine readers noticed that there's not an International Sign for a place for a nursing mom and babe to sit undisturbed, so they started a competition for a breastfeeding icon. Here are the three finalists... please go vote! (I know, you probably have another, more important vote on your mind today, but if you've got time to do this one, too, I promise no hanging chads).

I voted for #3, which is currently losing. #2 seemed a little too detailed for an icon, and it wouldn't be at all clear to me what #1 indicated if I didn't know.

#1 wasn't as clear, and of the others #3 is more consistent with the clear icons we are used to.

I thought 3 was the best, too, and am a little puzzled as to why 2 is in the lead. I think it might be because it's very similar to the La Leche League logo, and Mothering.com is rife with LLLactivists...

I also voted for #3! Still in last. Maybe teenage boys are voting for #2 because it's the one that shows the most "skin".
