BOB DAY 5.5!
i'm heading off into the bright blue clear sky today, off to new york to visit my sister! we'll be seeing the gates in central park, rose and her nifty new yarn store (www.yarnivore.com), cindy marvel and her new show (www.lazervaudeville.com), plus a bunch of firemen, some fancy restaurants, a couple of museums, and maybe a few surprises! i'm jazzed, i'm buzzing, i'm... NOT READY! so i'm gonna run and pack and make sure i have all the bits and pieces one needs to travel with a baby. plus, i can take my knitting on the plane again! whoopee!
had a great trip with julia yesterday, to lawrence... out to lunch, wandering through a bunch of funky college town retail shops, just having a gal's day out. and then i blew it by watching "ghost world" with her. i thought she would identify with the anguished artistic character who is longing for her independence. she didn't get it at all. her take? "it's not the same thing at all! enid alienates everyone. i'm ALIENATED by everyone!" sigh. i love my daughter more than air, but everything i do to try to make things easier for her seems to backfire. well, these years are supposed to be a challenge. if we make it without either of us hauled off to jail, and still on speaking terms, i suppose i should count that as a success.
ok, now i really do have to go. bye, and see ya next tuesday!
