Cordell's here for a visit, so we're doing the tourist thing tailored to his particular interests: Mitsuwa market, Adler Planetarium, Japanese garden and science museum on Monday.

Bill and I get to go to w00tstock tonight... w00t!

Gonna ship Clay off to Baja to work on a sailboat for a few weeks. Got his passport yesterday... summer adventure!

I think this last out-of-town trip finally did it... it looks like Linc is weaned. I'm both happy about it, and deeply sad that this is the very last moment of my body being able to support my kiddos. Maybe it's going to be more like a new career rather than being put out to pasture...

Wiley's been having a hard time lately... didn't eat all day yesterday and didn't want to go for a walk, hard time getting up. Gave him pain pills, coaxed him to eat with rice and broth this morning, and he seems a bit perkier. Poor old dog.

Mixed feelings about WisCon, although definitely weighed heavily in the positive end. Still processing.

I will be in Kansas City for a few days starting Sunday, June 20. Anyone up for a gathering on the 21st? Loose Park picnic at the sprayground? Union Station? Other ideas?

I'm hating all the new ad crap here at LJ. I have a DW account... maybe I should use it more? Convince me one way or the other, o my droogs!

Sweet, I'm glad Clay gets to go on the boat!

Definitely want to hear your Wiscon thoughts. I am so happy we got to talk.

Ads only happen if you're not logged in. To circumvent the black-screen blockage, hit F5 to reload as soon as the black screen shows up. Then log in. (I hate them too, but I'm not going to take on another site to check.)

Dan, Logan, and I had a GREAT time at w00tstock. Seriously good stuff. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Good thoughts for Wiley, who is indeed a sweet old dog.

That's false. At least, if you're logged into what used to be called a "free" account, ads still appear when viewing the accounts of others.

I get the ads every time I click through to cut-tagged posts for people who aren't LJ members, whether or not I'm logged in. And LJ seems to be logging me out a lot more often than it used to, or am I imagining things?

w00tstock was AMAZING. I haven't laughed so hard in years!

Wiley dog seems to be doing better today. I wonder if he's having little TIAs (mini-stroke things) or something...

I don't know what I'm doing differently. As long as I'm logged in (and yes, I seem to have to do that a lot more frequently) the only intrusion I notice is when I come to the site for the first time in a day, when I get that ridiculous black-screen blockout. Once I figured out that reload worked, it was a sufficient solution to keep me from going nuts. If I had had to sit through the ads, I'd be done with LJ already. :P

When we left w00tstock our faces hurt from laughing so hard. I can't wait for next year!

Glad Wiley is better today, and saw your other update as well. Old dogs have a tough time of it, but the tradeoff is all the love they get. :)

I've opened a DW account to play with, and have been using it slightly differently than my lj account (it's http://yomikoma.dreamwidth.org). I'm still playing with it but it seems very usable and the DW team seem very competent.
