i never really thought about the beach as a perk of Chicago until we
moved here. we've come at least once a week to frolic at Foster Beach,
and it's become our favorite park. We can bring Wiley, who isn't much
for swimming but loves to wander and dig. i got a couple nice beach
chairs super cheap (yay hayneedle.com) so i can sit and knit while the
boys splash and build sand castles. we have christian here with us
today, but he headed down the shoreline to gather treasures
(cinderblocks, by the look of it) so he's not in this pic. when you come
visit, we'll bring you here, too!

How strange, a freshwater beach! I'd love to see it but I think it will be a little chilly in November :)
