Earthweek was one of my favorite features of the San Francisco Chronicle, and I'm embarrassed it took me so bleepin' long to think of looking for it online. But lo, here it is, and now I'm sharing it with you! Enjoy.

Bill's been in Chicago since Wednesday morning, and Clay's moved in with Christian (something to do with some Watcher movie? ;) so Linc and I have been on our own the last couple of days. Simultaneously, Bill's family in Spokane have had more than their fair share of excitement: his mom had emergency gall bladder surgery, and his grandmother feel and broke her hip. If these things are supposed to come in threes, I decree that the third strike in this case shall consist of Bill's dad getting a paper cut (and not arterial, either)... there's no need for anything more spectacular, okay?

T'was gorgeous out yesterday, so we headed to the zoo and met up with some friends. Linc was a total delight to be with, mostly agreeable to the needs of the group and ready to laugh and play at every turn. I'm stressing on being ready for this move, but I think we both needed the mental health day. Photos forthcoming!

New house is coming together well... it took the maintenance company a while to contact me, and I was starting to wonder if I'd walked into a bad situation, but it turned out okay (so far). The owners of the house we're in now aren't going to be here until after April 1 anyway, so no rush on clearing this place out as quickly as we thought (yay!). We're taking over the fridge, stove, washer and dryer this weekend, the boys' beds are already there, and Moving Day is next Wednesday.

Any locals reading this and wish to take pity on a stressed mama? Come by this weekend and help me pack dishes! There are still about five boxes of give-away books you can look through, and I'll make you mochas and banana bread. (It worked last weekend... thanks, Jill and Tracy!)

Back to the boxes before Linc wakes up...

Wish I could come and help -- mochas and banana bread sound like a great bribe! Good luck with it all.
