(That's Japanese for Merry Christmas, and I wrote the katakana for it on the tag for Cord's new "Translation as a Career" book. Yay, Internet!)

We didn't do much yesterday, but last night I made vegan cookies and nog, and we read all our Christmas Eve books aloud... this year both Julia and Clay read some, too. Lit some candles and the fireplace, played spacey wintery music, snuggled on the couch with all my kiddos and Bill... it was a very cozy evening.

Here's a link to our Christmas morning photos. The kids and Bill all seemed to like what Santa and I brought them, and we'll have a minimal number of returns (one small shirt, and two duplicated books). We had mimosas and eggs/tofu and hashed browns and fresh-made danish for breakfast, then I used our new C&B dishrack for cleanup.

Welcome to the world, Avalon! Congratulations, [livejournal.com profile] sarafoop... Can't wait to see pics!

And farewell, James Brown.

I got Uggs from Bill! And a gorgeous iridescent serving bowl from Julia and Cord, and a Get Fuzzy anthology from Clay, and an outfit from my sister, and a bunch of other fun stuff. I am feeling warm and fuzzy and mushy now.

Time to fix some chili for dinner. Hope your holiday rocks, too!
