A good weekend

Rambling recap plus some photos...
Yesterday, we bundled up for the Prop. 8 protest rally here in KC. There were maybe 250-300 people, and they were ready to get roused up, but nobody thought to bring a megaphone. Wait, I take that back... crazy Jesus dude had one, and he rambled on and on while the crowd got restless, watching speakers they couldn't hear. The Heartland Men's Chorus sang a bit, which was a treat, and then the crowd went back to waving signs at cars. It was the first bit of snow I'd seen this year; we were frozen but it was totally worth it.
Last night, Bill and Clay vanished to play their new WoW expansion module thingies, and Linc continued a nap he'd started in the car (he had a touch of stomach flu earlier this week; I was glad he was getting some good rest after the rally). I had a couple of hours all to myself, which was delightful. I spent them listening to Prairie Home Companion, flipping through some food magazines, eating Brie and crackers with some Menage a Trois red, and fixing some chicken baked with Parmesan to go with some yummy sweet potato soup
jillcook gave us, along with some bread pudding for dessert (with brandy and fresh nutmeg, mmm!), baked with some sweet potatoes and a Kobacha squash for muffins or a soup later this week. Then Bill and I watched a whole disc of House, Season 4, which included "Frozen," one of the better episodes, I thought. I knit on a present... I love cabling but dang, it's hard to do that and anything else at all. And this project is involving a LOT of cabling. Hope the recipient likes it... I think it looks pretty nice so far.
Today, Linc and I tried to stay out of Bill's hair... his stomach was feeling a little wobbly, too. But he felt better by the afternoon, and so I snuck off for some more me-time. Did a couple of errands, then headed over to the Gaia Community "Rave Ritual." Turns out it was an hour and a half of dancing! Seriously... some awesome trance music, lots of lights and stickers and ribbons and such. I was a little surprised... but hey, whatever works. And it did! Once I shed my long johns (hey, it was COLD this morning), it was an awesome way to raise power and open up the ol' right brain meditative space.
After that, I stayed to help tear down the A/V and reset all the chairs. Bill had IM'd a request for milk, so I decided to stop by Whole Foods. There was a new Indian place right out front, and it smelled soooo good when I got out of the car that I was totally dragged in there by my nose, like those cartoons. It was really, REALLY good... I can't wait to go back for the buffet lunch sometime.
Then I wandered through Whole Foods for about an hour. I spent maybe half of that at the cheese counter, just talking about all these different cheeses and processes and histories with the gal there. I think some chocolate was obtained, just a bit, plus a couple of odds and ends like hand soap and hot Italian chicken sausage and egg noodles for stroganoff, which I've been craving. Oh, yes, and I remembered the milk.
Here are a few photos from the last camera download.
