Mostly good things

I got to talk to Cordell last night, courtesy of the AIM video phone. His host family was there (dad, 8yo boy, 5yo girl; mom was at work), but didn't speak much English. I tried to be somewhat entertaining but I'm afraid all I succeeded at was embarrassing my son... still, it was very very cool to see where he is and who he's living with. He's been doing an awesome job of journaling so far, and he also posted his journal from his 2006 trip.
I got my new Timbuk2 bag (the black small cargo tote). And everything fits in it just great... including the new Sidekick. Yep, I played with Bill's, and I was totally seduced. It's small and sexy, streamlined and speedy. My only beef so far: all my games and ringtones don't port over, and if I want 'em back, I gotta buy 'em... even the ones that were free in the first place. Sheesh.
After an infestation of gray roots, I finally redyed my hair.

More "ghost" periods. Can it be they're speeding up? Maybe I should jot them down on a calendar. It's a pretty predictable pattern: 2-3 horny days, 2-3 sore boob days, headache/chocolate day, anxiety/hatin' on KC day/irritability/simultaneous drinking-peeing urges day, backache and swollen tomato day, then... nothin'. Wait a while, it starts over again.
We've been watching House, Season 4. How are they keeping it up for so long? Also inching my way through a disk of Banacek episodes (thanks,
selinker!).
Knitting is going slow, but I'm progressing on several projects. Just finished one, woohoo (guess what it is,
saxikath!).
Anyone out there interested in seeing some of the beading I've been messing around with? I made up two pairs of earrings and a necklace last week, despite all the "help" from my youngest. I'm toying with the idea of slapping together an Etsy shop and selling a few bits here and there. Any crafters out there got comments pro or con? Should I just stick with eBay, or do something else entirely?
After a full week of phone tag, I got the moving guy on the phone; we're moving the rest out of the old house on Monday. Since the bank is dragging their feet on the two offers we've already submitted, and the realtor seems to think the buyers are ready to walk (can't blame 'em... it's been what, three weeks?), and we have no other offers (despite the continually emptied flier box and regular showings), I'm resigned to the probability of foreclosure. So it's time to get out of there, change the address, and let go of the whole mess.
Bill's got several apps going out in the next few weeks. He's also headed back to Portugal Sept. 22-28... anyone out there wanna come visit and keep me company then? I shall feed you well, and maybe let you win at Rock Band, even.
Still following the Palin trainwreck... that's a link to a very interesting letter from one of her hometown acquaintances. Now I read that her handlers aren't letting her talk to the press until she's had a few solid days of coaching. Also... lurve that Biden response!
Clay and Bill are out bonding at a School of Rock punk concert. Linc and I are having a lazy day at home. Hope you're having a great weekend... what are you doing/did you do?

on Sept 27.
Sounds like all sorts of fun. Kinda like Trans Siberian Orchestra.
