Ganked from
serenejournal:
1. They are watching TV. What are they watching?
He'll wander in and join us when we're on a series kick sometimes... Heroes, Veronica Mars, House. The third would be his favorite, I'd say. Lately we've been trying to watch a bit of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert together, and last night he was listening to Bill Clinton's speech. But generally, he's not a big TV or movie watcher.
2. You're out to eat. What kind of dressing do they get on their salad?
Caesar.
3. What's one food this person doesn't like? What's one food this person could not live without?
He is SO not a picky eater, thankfully. The two things he's not too hot about are melons and tomatoes, but since I started growing my own tomatoes, he's even eating those. He's been developing a nasty reaction to some fruits, mostly apples and stone fruits, but fortunately transforming them into pie usually makes them tolerable. He would not last very long without bacon.
4. You go out to the bar. He/she orders...
White Russian. But we don't go to bars, unless we're waiting for a seat somewhere else.
5. Where did he/she go to high school?
Spokane. No idea what the name of the school was, though.
6. What size shoe do they wear?
About a 9 1/2 or 10. Depends on the manufacturer. We are close enough in shoe size to occasionally use each other's footwear on a short-term basis, though my feet a about half a size smaller than his.
7. If this person were to collect anything, it would be...
Board games, although we've been slowed up on that since we moved to KC.
8. What is their favorite type of sandwich?
The one you hand to him. I think a grilled cheese sandwich cheers him up when he's down or feeling sickish, definitely comfort food.
9. This person could eat ______ everyday.
Bacon.
10. Favorite cereal?
Benders? It's this bulk sweetened flake cereal we grab at the store. I think he also likes Raisin Bran, Cinnamon Toasters, and Life.
11. This person wouldn't be caught dead wearing?
Tighty whities.
12. Favorite sports team?
He watched some basketball when I first met him, but I think he's pretty meh about sports in general.
13. Who will he/she vote for?
Obama.
14. What is their sign?
"No Right Turn"
15. What is something you do that he/she wishes you didn't?
He's actually an extremely easygoing and affable roommate. While I'm a bit more high-strung, we've really worked from day one to not get on each other's nerves. I'm really fortunate to have a partner who's so indulgent of all my foibles and failings. I think the thing that probably gets on his nerves the most is when I get involved in situations where I'm promised money, he winds up watching the kids and dealing with the house while I go do the task, and then payment falls through (and then he has to pick up the pieces when I get all disappointed and blue about it). I seem to have a knack for this, unfortunately. I also tend to read sinister or mean intent into an action that is, at worst, thoughtless, and this unhappy character flaw has brought us both much grief. I'm sure we both wish I could lose it. Can we talk about something else, now?
16. How many states has this person lived in?
Four? Indiana, Washington, California and Missouri. I think...
17. What is his/her heritage?
Oooh, I should know this better... his dad is a major genealogy buff. I think there's quite a bit of German, some Italian, and a bit of random Euromutt in there.
18. You bake them a cake for their birthday. What kind do you bake?
Heh. HE'S the big cake-baker around here. I try to listen and see what he's been hankering for before I make him something, although he'll happily snorf up just about anything I make. He's not so much a choconut as me, so I'd probably lean towards something vanilla or fruity.
19. Did he/she play sports in high school?
Not unless you consider skewering opponents during a debate to be sportsmanlike.
20. This person could spend hours...
MMORPGing, specifically WoW but he's fallen into others in the past and I'm sure there's more in his future. Also, any questy type console game, from DS to 360, will hold his happy attention for days. Until he's interrupted by his needy spouse.
21. He/She wants a new...
iPhone with a real AIM client and no crap from AT&T. Since those things aren't very likely, how about a bigass flatscreen or projection TV?
22. The CD I would probably find in their vehicle is...
Heh, I think Squarepusher's "Big Loada" is in there now, but I don't know why. It's on his iPod.
23. What can you do that will guarantee a laugh from him/her?
We have a lot of running gag jokes. We usually can crack each other up when we're juggling, and I also have a really awful knack of totally ruining the moment by making a completely inappropriate but funny observation during sex. As long as it's funny, I'm usually quickly forgiven. The nice side effect is that it makes everything last longer.
24. Does he/she get along well with their family?
Remarkably well. The same traits that make him an easygoing roommate also make him a very amiable family member. I don't think he's really got anyone on the face of the Earth who is unhappy with him.
25. If money weren't an object, I would buy him/her...
That TV. An endowed seat on the faculty at UW. A hired hand to do the catbox. New games and juggling toys. A trip to the European Juggling Convention, Leipzig (video game convention), and/or Essen (board game convention)... hmmm, EJC is in Munich in 2011. A new kitchen, with an awesome stove with a pizza oven and a huge Hobart mixer and a big fridge and a walk-in pantry and great lighting and a sound system. Okay, I'll admit that at least part of that last one was for me.
So, hon, how'd I do?
