My oldest son was about 7 when he started to argue with me: "Would you like a root beer?" "Sure, but you're saying it wrong. It's roop beer." "What? No, it's not. ROOT, with a T." "Really? No, you're joking me!" This went back and forth for quite a while before I showed him the spelling on the bottle. He was astounded. He really, truly thought the beverage was called "roop beer."
He also used to say "opagus" for octopus, and "absoloopy" for absolutely.
My stepkids would ask where we were going, and I'd always say "Hell in a handbasket." One day the oldest one asked where we were going and the middle one said (and oh boy did I cringe when he opened his mouth to give my answer!) "Ham in a handbasket!" I'm so glad that he listens to me, but not that well!
So...did we ever decide on a time to get together Saturday?
Uhm...I'm going to call that cheating! Showing me a comment in my own journal....mumble grumble. Thanks, I would have never thought of that. Seriously. I am getting very close to having to have people remind me to go to bed and wake up and go to work.
4 is not too early. I don't know if I'm going to be bringing anyone else. It may just be you.
Hmm....how about Boulevard or O'Malley's. They aren't available in Texas.
