1) Are you currently in a serious relationship?

Yup, though we're not serious all the time. Sometimes we're very silly.

2) What was your dream growing up?

Let's see. I was in this amazing candy store, with all these different types of candy, some of which I had never seen. And the nice woman who ran the store said I could have any candy I wanted. Then all those kids who were always so mean to me at recess came in and . . .

Oh, it's too traumatic to even think about.

3) What talent do you wish you had?

I wish I could drive better and without spending the entire drive wishing I were doing anything other than driving.

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?

Well, gee, that would be for you to decide, wouldn't it. But I hope it's beer.

5) Favorite vegetable, prepared how?

Oh, that's tough, cuz I love me some veggies. I love green beans, just barely blanched and sauteed with a lot of garlic. And I love roasted root vegetables: a mix of taters, sweet taters, parsnips, turnips, carrots, beets, jicama, etc all mixed together with a little EVOO and some fresh rosemary and lots of cloves of garlic. And I love raw fennel. And fresh picked corn, and . . .

6) What was the last book you read?

That's tough to answer, as I usually have a mess of books going at once. The last book I read anything from was the RE/SEARCH book of bodily fluids which happened to be in the bathroom when I went in there about 20 minutes ago. I think the last book I read front to end in one go was probably The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan, which I picked up at the airport flying back from Miami last week.

7) Any cool scar stories?

I still have a slight discoloration under my right eye from when one of my first grade classmates stabbed me with a pencil & the lead broke off.

Now you see where my dreams come from.

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.

Just two very boring holes, one in each lobe.

9) Can you describe the wall art in your bedroom?

There's not much, actually, as I live in a loft and there's not much wall space - there's much more art in the rest of the house. But there's a mirrored piece with a stained glass iris, a photo of my mom & my grandfather from her teenage years, and a pastiche of Munch's The Scream in which the main figure is not squatting and screaming, but is holding a fishing reel off the bridge. There's also a number of non-wall art pieces in the room( a couple of sculptures, a fountain, and a funky thumb piano made in a gourd that I consider art.

10) What do you want more than anything, right now?

a glass of water would be nice. Hold on

11) What is your most prized possession?

My sense of humor.

12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?

Depends. For example, I have a pretty negative attitude about this country's way of dealing with the rest of the world, but an optimistic attitude about how much fun I'll have at lunch with lediva on Monday.

13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?

Depends. Is there a boom box and some beer with us?

Hmmm, I don't think I'm weird or that anything about me is particularly weird.

Yup - Sidney (a russian blue) and Moxie (a long-haired tuxedo cat)

17) What if I showed up at your house unexpectedly?

I'd be delighted! I'd make us a wonderful meal & subject you to my music collection.

18) What was your first impression of me?

That's hard to say. I don't think we'd much interacted until we sort of got to know each other on LJ. I don't remember meeting you before then, though I probably did. By the time I got to meet you, I'd already formed an impression of you as clever, warm, nurturing, and a bit too self-effacing for your own good. In person, you are, in fact, warm, nurturing, and very clever. though not as self-effacing as you are on LJ.

19) Favorite comfort food?

Chocolate.

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?

I'd quit growing hair places that I feel I need to wax if I'm wearing a biking, cuz I hate waxing and hate shaving. Barring that, I'd like to stop giving a shit about it.

21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?

Yes.

22) Can you feel when someone is watching you?

I'm a stage actress, so, yeah.

23) Ever been arrested?

Yup, but not charged.

24) Bottle or can beverages?

Bottle, preferably wine bottle or beer bottle. I think I've seen other versions of this where it specifically says soda, which I don't drink.

25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?

Give it to my ex. I still owe him quite a bit of money from when we split up & I bought the house from him. We managed to work something out so that my mortgage would be manageable, and he was very generous. But I have a fairly large debt to him which I'm chipping away far more slowly than I'd like.

27) What's your favorite place to hang at?

My own home. It's really a very cool place; as jedusor can attest.

28) Do you believe in ghosts?

Nah.

29) Favorite thing to do in your spare time?

um.... Rehearse, read, cryptic crosswords, swing dancing, weight training, completing silly memes.

30) Do you swear a lot?

Fuck no.

31) Biggest pet peeve?

People who use the word "data" as a single noun. Working in research, and now doing a lot of stats, I hear it practically every day and it's like fingernails on a chalk board.

32) In one word, how would you describe yourself?

Energetic

33) What is a sign of romance, for you?

It would be something very personal between me & the romancer/romancee. So I can't answer that directly.

35) Do you believe in God?

Not as God is traditionally conceived.

Oh boy - that's a toughie. The song I most want to hear right now, though, is "Lady Sniff" by the Butthole Surfers. Fortunately, I have it on vinyl right downstairs, and so I can fulfill that desire.

2) What was your dream growing up? I had tons of them. You probably remember them better than I do.
3) What talent do you wish you had? I wish I were better at puzzles than I am. I know that will come with time and practice, though.
4) If I bought you a drink what would it be? How about chilled sake at Domo?
5) Favorite vegetable, prepared how? Fresh peas right out of the pod are delicious.
6) What was the last book you read? I'm almost done rereading The Amber Spyglass. Lyra is a hell of a lot more annoying this time.
7) Any cool scar stories? Heh, you know them already- popcorn and laundry, both on the right hand.
8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where. Eyebrow piercing. I don't think I still have holes in my ears- I haven't had earrings in them for a long time.
9) Can you describe the wall art in your bedroom? That picture of fortune cookies you drew and the picture of me and Cord on the roller coaster.
10) What do you want more than anything, right now? For this essay to be done, and for it to be done well.
11) What is your most prized possession? I hate to say that my most prized possession is a Dell laptop, but I would be going absolutely insane without the internet, so Scorpius it is.
12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude? I try to stay optimistic. Sometimes I fail.
13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me? Call for help and then talk. There wouldn't be much else to do.

15) Tell me one weird fact about you. I think salt plum soda is just about the best thing humans have ever invented.
16) Do you have any pets? Not unless you count Hobo, and I've been realizing that I have issues with the concept of pet ownership in general, so I doubt I ever will.
