After the hellish arrival day (plane left six hours late... no vouchers, no drink coupons, barely even a "whoops, sorry you're late" from United), things started looking up. I had a better-than-decent meal at 240 Union (I'll write about it on the food blog when I get a chance to type it up), then conked out early.
The bridal braid went mostly well, and then I got to go see Cindy, Carter (2/3s of Lazer Vaudeville) & adorable baby Theo for a few hours up in Boulder (including a tour of the nifty Boulder Circus Center). I first met him by playing peek-a-boo around the doorway of the kitchen, so he called me "Boo" the whole time I was there. You've got a keeper there, guys!
My rental car had a GPS (I think it was something like this one), and it made finding my way around a strange city a total piece of cake. I want one, but I think I want a working iPod more, so it's gonna have to wait.
This morning I had breakfast at Bump and Grind, an outrageous espresso bar and café full of kitsch, servers in drag, and disco. That'll be up on![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Despite a steady chilly rain that was threatening to turn to flurries (eek! and I had no coat or umbrella!), I got my car back in plenty of time. Denver security is sloooowww but I made my flight with 20 minutes to spare (that is definitely one thing KC has got right: an excellent airport with super-fast security!). I don't think I'm any bigger than I was flying out here, but this plane definitely felt like it had smaller seats, both width and depth (for instance: I could open my tray table no problem on Friday, but today I couldn't at all).
So the upshot: Denver seems to be a beautiful, friendly, and artistic city; and for cripes' sake, don't fly United.
