The color meme:

Red

1. Closest red thing to you?: Brio caboose
2. Last thing to make you angry?: My toddler repeatedly pestering me to nurse while I was trying to eat dinner.
3. Do you have a temper?: Yes. I'm not proud of it.
4. Are you a fan of romance?: I love being wooed, and I love making others feel special. I guess that would be a yes, then.


Orange

1. Closest orange thing to you?: The knitting bag my sister gave me for Christmas a year ago.
2. Do you like to burn things?: Yep. I don't indulge very often but I do have a lot of candles around the house.
3. Dress up for Halloween?: Yeah, I like to, but usually I'm tearing around trying to make sure all the kids have all their costume bits, pieces and make-up.
4. Are you usually a warm-hearted person?: I think so but sometimes I feel a hard edge in me.
5. Are you usually full of energy?: Nope. Wish I was.


Yellow

1. Closest yellow thing to you?: A yellow pad with Julia's to-do list on it.
2. The happiest time[s] of your life?: The culmination point after months of work to bring something to fruition... making a festival or conference or party or wedding or baby happen. Witnessing others' births and braiding for weddings, and watching people enjoy things I've cooked or made are also high points. Feeling in synch with my kids and partner is great, too.
3. Favorite holiday: Christmas morning, New Year's Eve, Bob Day!
4. Are you a coward?: Hmm. I'm less inclined to take certain risks, especially when any of my kids are involved.
5. Do you burn or tan?: Tan, due to my Native American blood. Thanks, Dad!


Green

1. Closest green thing to you?: The moons on a cloth that hangs in front of the TV screen when we're not using it.
2. Do you care about the environment?: Yes.
3. Are you jealous of anyone right now?: Anyone who sleeps through the night.
4. Are you a lucky person?: Extremely
5. Do you always want what you can't have?: Not always, but desire sneaks in and sets up camp once in a while.
6. Do you like being outdoors?: Mostly. I'm not big on super hot and muggy days, which are pretty common round these parts.
7. Are you Irish?: Might have a bit in there, on my mom's father's side (isn't Pomeroy an Irish name?)


Blue

1. Closest blue thing to you?: My jeans.
2. Are you good at calming people down?: I'm told I'm a decent doula, and part of that job is to bring calm and peace into a sometimes hard situation. But if someone's screaming at me, I get all wobbly... not good at that kind of confrontation.
3. Do you like the sea?: Very much. Being so far from it is hard for me.
4. What was the last thing that made you cry?: My hormones? My kids? Exhaustion? Not sure... probably a mixture.
5. Are you a logical thinker?: I can be, but I have to work at it. I tend to go with my gut instincts and intuition primarily.
6. Can you sleep easily?: Usually, although when I'm stressed it gets more difficult (especially those wakeful times in the wee hours).


Purple

1. Closest purple thing to you?: My shirt, longsleeve plain t-shirt.
2. Like being treated to expensive things?: Sometimes it's hard for me to accept gifts... it's much easier for me to treat others. But sometimes it's a lovely feeling!
3. Do you like mysterious things?: Oh yes!
4. Favorite type of chocolate?: Dark, good chocolate... Scharffen Berger 70% is a sure-fire winner... it's got a deep flavor reminiscent of wine that just fills my senses beautifully.
5. Ever met anyone from an online community: Lots.
6. Are you creative?: Yes, though I'd like to nurture that part of me a bit more.


Pink

1. Closest pink thing to you?: A Kleenex box.
2. Do you like sweet things?: Not as much as I used to. I can't even drink soda anymore; most conventional candy is far too sweet for me.
3. Like play-fighting?: Nope. Not into play-rape or play-car accidents, either.
4. Are you sensitive?: Very.
5. Do you like punk music?: Not really.


White

1. Closest white thing to you?: The radiator.
2. Would you say you're innocent?: As in naïve? I was pretty sheltered for most of my life. I learned an awful lot about life in my 30s... I think my innocent days are long gone.
3. Always try to keep the peace?: Well, I don't like confrontations and big blow-outs. We try to address difficulties in the family before they get too far developed.
4. How do you imagine your wedding?: Just exactly as it was! A huge party for our hundred closest buddies!
5. Do you like to play in the snow?: Yep! Especially sculpting things.
6. Are you afraid of going to the doctors or dentist?: Hate it.


Black

1. Closest black thing to you?: Remember that cloth covering the TV? Black is the main color.
2. Ever enjoy hurting people?: I'm not proud of it, but I have taken pleasure in other's misfortunes. Also, if someone likes it, I'm told I'm rather gifted at dishing it out.
3. Are you sophisticated or silly?: Not particularly either, really.
4. Would you like to go to space?: The older I get, the deeper my roots go. I think I'm pretty earthbound these days.
5. Do you have a lot of secrets?: Probably. I don't dwell on them.
6. What is your favorite color?: Deep dark indigo, heading into purple.
7. Does the color you wear affect your mood?: Oh yes! Black and bright colors make me feel very happy.
