I'm so sorry you're facing this decision. It's not an easy one to make under any circumstances, but especially when the right choice is so unclear. It sounds as though if you perceived Wiley's quality of life to be a little worse, you'd have some confidence that putting him down would be the kindest course of action. I think via_lens has a good insight that Wiley's inner state may be a lot less content than it looks from a human point of view. That's something worth thinking about that might make the right decision clearer.
Wiley is a sweet and wonderful dog, and I am glad to have known him. He lived a good, long life, with much mutual happiness between him and all of you. You have nothing to feel horrible about if you decide that it's time to let him go.
