That is always a hard decision Katje and I am so sorry that you are in the middle of it right now. I have been there and it has rarely been as clear-cut as I would wish. And if it is that clear cut, than it probably means their last day was pretty horrible and you wish you would have decided sooner. :/ Unfortunately, unless you can find a good clairvoyant, there's no way to know that so we just have to do our best. My thoughts are, how is the animal's quality of life right now? Are they able to enjoy the things that are important to them? If I could translate their age, situation, and ailments into human terms, what would I want? There is no one answer that is right for everyone, whether it is our pets or ourselves.
