I've been trying to find out about Carl and Ellie too, but still no luck. I also felt that it was a little off to have Muntson fall to an almost certain death. It also was too contrived to make him pleasant one minute then "bad" the next. He really just wanted to show the world the bird. He was going to bring her back alive, but as my daughter reminded me Kevin had the babies to look after and Muntson wasn't going to wait for them...even though no one asked him if he would have been satisfied with some feathers and a photo. The best part of the film for me were the parts with Carl and Ellie in the begining and the end that her adventures were there with him. Oh I have to get some kleenex...
