No aloha van

Financing didn't work out in our favor. Oh well. (To answer some concerns in the previous comments: the car would have had a warranty of one to five years, and the ship goes back and forth from the islands anyway, so I doubt adding another piece of freight would have significantly altered the carbon footprint.)

Turns out we're just not ready for a drive up to Chicago this weekend... Bill's still wiped from his trip to Spokane, the weather's gonna stink, and I think part of my back problems are that I just don't fit into the car we have, and sitting in it for that long of a drive would be asking for trouble.

So... more virtual searches, both for housing and for a vehicle. Whee!

(P.S. Cord, I found a DVD release of Ponyo with English subtitles, so you're off the hook. Yay eBay!)

You didn't buy that DVD, did you? It's pirated, if you're gonna do that, you may as well just download it...

Ponyo isn't released on DVD in Japan until July 3rd, there are ads everywhere promoting the release already.

I'm sure the government sticker is a real sticker, not sure what it's supposed to mean though. I'm afraid it really is pirated... sorry... doesn't mean it won't work fine though; just means no extra features.

It happens all the time here too, in every mall there's at least one shop selling Disney DVDs with covers that came out of a laser printer.
