Car problem was a bad battery, $190. That's nearly 20% of its current trade-in value, dammit. Bill was there at 7 a.m. and they didn't even look at it until mid-afternoon, but he's got it now so we've got a ride again, w00t.

Wiley had a couple of hard days, but yesterday and today he seems to be almost his old perky self. We'll let him go all night tonight without a pain pill and see how he does.

Sold the fridge, washer, dryer, stove, and a couple of smaller things. Have a guy from a local bookstore coming out to look at the six (!) boxes of books. Thinking about sending the CDs to iPodMeister... anyone have any feedback on them? Might send any other sellable books to Powell's, and any left after that to Operation Breakthrough. Am finding the Amazon Marketplace thing to be more stress than it's worth, so I've ditched that project for now. Getting ready to Craigslist the rest of the big things tonight.

I think we'll do some sort of a moving sale this weekend to get rid of the bits and pieces that are piling up. Jeez, I wish it wasn't 90-something degrees out there... We'll do a final give-away (house cooling) on Saturday, August 15. Anything that's not sold or spoken for that day is up for grabs. We'll also have fridge food, booze and house plants that will all need new homes that day... plan on stopping by, taping up a box or two, and grabbing a souvenir.

With all the appliance money, I'm coming close to $1,000. We'll see what else we can scrape together. If we can somehow quit hemorrhaging cash for things like vets and Provigil and car repairs, we might be able to actually think about another car before this one craps out entirely. Fingers crossed!
