A weak wave from this corner
Feb. 9th, 2008 06:07 pmNot looking for pats on the popo or anything, but just wanted to let you guys know we're still alive. Clay brought home a chesty cold that everyone has gradually come down with. Bill, Clay and Linc were pretty much better by Friday, which is good because I went out of commish Thursday night and am just starting to think that perhaps surviving to live on might be a possibility.
This was a wicked cold. Mine started in the chest and moved up to settle in my throat and ears... they've been burning all day (eucalyptus steam, hot water with lemon and honey, salt-water gargles, Ricolas, and garlic-olive oil drops for the ears have been helpful). We all tried some Mucinix yesterday, and the Vitamin I has been flowing. Bleargh.
Dave Sedaris' "Barrel Fever" and Stephen Fry's "Wilde" have occupied my fevered waking hours. The boys have been running feral downstairs... well, good thing I made it to the store before I crashed. I'm really glad this hit AFTER we got home!
I've just found out that some old friends, Bill Berry & Jonathan Root (aka Team Rootberry) will be performing a few hours away in a couple of weeks. It's been too long since I've hung out with juggly folks... lord willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be there.
Got some bloodwork done to rule out thyroid problems with my sleep and weight struggles. Next up: a sleep study. A cpap machine doesn't sound very sexy, but neither does being tired all the time either.
