we made it to salt lake city last night. another hour in the pool got
him pooped enough to sleep hard, but between the hour loss and his nap,
we didn't get to sleep until after 11. now it's 8 and he doesn't want to
wake up, even for waffles. storm hasn't hit hard yet, though it looks
rainy and windy out there (it was REALLY windy last night... i'm glad i
wasn't driving the van). turns out country music isn't as quite so
god-awful as i remember, lots of bluegrass and harmonies in there. ah
jest hope mah wife don't run off with mah dawg and mah truck again.

it was all clear and blue and dry and nice out... then the wind hit, and
the snow started dumping. this pic is of the parking lot... we're not
moving. all that came down in the last 10m or so... totally white-out
conditions beyond a couple hundred feet, maybe even one hundred now...
hotel folks are being very nice about letting us hang out. hopefully it
will pass soon. might be time to pull out the chains...
