outside a rest stop near truckee.... road has been clear and dry, blue
skies, happy linker (but he's getting a cold, so we won't wallow in the
snow for long). apparently neither of me "let's have dinner in
emeryville" postings made it to lj... is this flickrblog thing working?
hoping to make it to reno tonight, and get someone to fix the cassette
deck (i got one of those cassete deck input thingies, but the thing
rattles and ticks as loud as the music... not good for long-distance
driving!).

thanks to everyone who made my west coast visit so much fun! it was
great to see you all (and talk to the ones i didn't see). it's so hard
to drive away... but i'm really jonesing for a dose of my guy, and i
really miss clay somethin' fierce. brr! time to defrost my fingers!

the roads and weather were all beautifully clear through truckee and
donner pass. linc fell asleep just before reno, so i decided to use the
nap to push a little further east to fernley. in the pic, he's clutching
a space shuttle set he piteously pled for at the space museum... i
actually almost got the exact same thing for him as a christmas present.
it turned out to have been a good investment... i've been hearing
countdowns and booster ignitions from the back seat all day. even with a
cold, he's been a lot of fun... i fixed his flashlight and he sounded
like i'd given him a million bucks! now to marinate in the hot tub for a
while...
