So St. Patty's Day is a really big deal in KC. I mean, a city-wide holiday, several parades, huge chunks of the town cordoned off for wild drunken music and parties, etc. etc. I've always made sure I wore a bit of green, but other than that, SPD was more or less a blip on the daily routine.

This year, I decided to get into it. Well, at least food-wise. We had Irish Oats this morning. I actually obtained some corned beef (now I know I could've brined it my own self, but by the time I'd figured that out it was far too late to start), potatoes, cabbage, Guinness, and the mixin's for Irish Soda Bread (vegan and non). I got it all pulled together, even though we didn't get home until 5:30 from gymnastics, and had two extra kids for the evening.

I even served 'em green lemonade (dubbed Alien Juice). It was a hit, even though the bread was mushy and had to spend a bit more time in the oven.

I am very proud of meself. The only hitch was that Bill couldn't find his nifty new shamrock boxers. His poor lucky charms had to settle for the Damn Hippies South Park ones instead.

Oh, and it's BobDay. Six and a half years! Go us!
