Oh no, not a personal tragedy. Just totally in awe of them, watching their triumphant faces when they cross the finish line. It's not as fun with the first 50 or so, those guys just look tired and matter of fact about it - you have to wait for the middle-to-last wave of people, the ones crossing almost or fully in tears, amazed that they did it.
I just want to hug them all. :) Makes me get all weepy.
