acro-bat squirrel

this little guy has been raiding our bird feeder since we started filling it this autumn. he's really funny, sometimes coming at it perpendicular to the tree trunk, and other times hanging from his rear paws like this. his fur has gotten really glossy and he's definitely pudgy compared to the rest of the squirrels on the block, but it's not like he's scaring away any birds (he dumps plenty on the ground for them to snack on) so we've been enablers for his raiding technique.

sorry about the bad quality... i had to shoot through a storm window at the highest zoom to even get this.

you might notice that it's kinda white out there... weather report yesterday said "morning flurries" but these flurries resulted in a 4- or 5-inch dump of snow. it's really beautiful out there, but a bitch to drive in. it's -12C right now and the high is supposed to be -9C tomorrow... yeep!

the garage door opener went on the fritz today. i've got it jimmied with a screwdriver so i can get in and out but we're gonna have to get it fixed soon. good thing the refinance is going through smoothly so far...

Squee!

I gave in and got a *squirrel* feeder. Someone in the neighborhood has trained a local squirrel to take peanuts from a person's hand. **Not** me, but I'll take advantage of the serious cuteness!
