The laptop is... *sob*... gone

So my laptop has been getting slower and slower lately, and when Bill started messing with it this afternoon, he decided it needed to be looked at. I was playing with Lincoln and sorta watching Ferris Bueller, so I said, "Whatever you need to do, honey. Thanks!"

Next thing I know, I'm getting a call from the Apple Store asking me if I need anything off of the hard drive! AAAACK! It's gone for 7-10 business days to get a new (umm, i might be a little unclear on this) logic board?

So I'm pooterless for the nonce. Bill very nicely set up my Eudora files on his G5 so I can still have some communication with the digital world, but I suspect I'm gonna be doing a lot of knitting this week.

Hmmm. These things always go in threes, right, and I've already killed my Hiptop, and crippled my camera... please, not my laptop! Spare her! Well, we'll see what happens.

Yay for three-year warrantees.

In other news, Bill just got interviewed yesterday for a food column in the newspaper, which means we all had to eat danish and pizza. Darnit. He'll be featured in mid-May... I'll be sure to letcha know when it hits the stands. He's all fallen into this new online soulsucker game (World of Warcraft or something like that), and now with a gone laptop I suspect I'm gonna be even crankier about him disappearing for hours online.

Time for bed. Goodnight and say a little prayer for my sick Powerbook, ok?

If it's just your logic board, why is he concerned about your hard drive? They're supposed to just switch the board and leave your hard drive alone. (?)

well, i have a lot of jobs and conversations and financial information on that hard drive, and to have them disappear for a week or two would really mess up my household. he was able to snag what i needed to keep things humming along on the G5, fortunately... i'm sure they're not gonna mess anything up on the hard drive.

The camera wasn't your fault, though.
