Late but still delish

Hey, I just remembered that I'd promised to share my Thai Peanut Sauce recipe with y'all, and so

This is the recipe as it was given to me... I tend to be a lot more loose in my interpretation when I whip it up, but this is at least the starting point:

Rainbow Peanut Noodles

1 1/2" ginger, grated (more is fine)
8 cloves garlic (more is fine)
1 tsp. hot chili paste (I use chili sesame oil, or just a shake of cayenne)
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. soy sauce or tamari
3 1/2 T. sugar
3 1/2 T. chinese black vinegar (I've never had this, but I substitute Worchestershire sauce and rice vinegar)
3 T. toasted sesame oil
5 T. chicken broth or water (I've used veggie broth)

Blend and devour!

I pour it over about 2 lbs. of cooked noodles, sometimes adding a bit of lightly steamed broccoli or sauteed chicken breast if the vegetarians are out. We had it tonight, with everyone feeling sick and snotty, and doubled the garlic and ginger, for medicinal purposes.

As I mentioned, we are all sickish, even poor Lincoln. He's been more awake than not the last few nights, which means I've been both sick and tired. It's a bad combination. I had to bail on taking the boys to their Yu-gi-oh/Magic meeting today, but the nap helped significantly.

But I did go to Clayton's stop-motion animation class this morning, the first in a series of seven, and I WANNA DO ANIMATION! This looks soooo cool, and we have the equipment... all I need is some inspiration for a story to tell. I played around shooting Clayton and Lincoln, spinning around on the floor, and messing with iMovie for a while. We'll see what happens... but I think I've found a new hobby! There's a film festival going on here next week; I hope to sneak off and enjoy a little bit of it.

Game night was last night. I think we'll be having folks over every other week, on Monday nights, to play board games. I was starting to get sick, and unprepared to feed everyone last night, so I didn't really enjoy it much... but with better health and planning (and a later start), I think it will be great.

We'll have the second juggling night tomorrow... that's going to stay weekly. So in general, we're launching several new regular social events. I guess having the baby really slowed me up on this kind of thing (understandably), but I miss it and I'm glad we're finally making it happen.

Now I'm going to go sit in the tub and let the heat and garlic and ginger work their magic on this rotten disease.

Great ideas!

Games night and juggling sound like good ways to met like minded people in a new environment. Mind if I steal Games night? I'll leave Andrew to finding the jugglers. I think his plan involves juggling on the beach.

As to turkeyfest, I think it'll be a shift to Conch-yfest but, hell, pack everybody up and come in November!

Awe, i'm sorry you're sick. I hope you feel better quickly.

I also hope that you'll have some fun with games real soon now, like, maybe saturday. (Although, i, personally, will probably be more interested in knitting with you.)
