Braggin' on my MIL

I meant to post this a long time ago, but now that Easter is almost upon us, I might as well get it up now. My mother-in-law, Lorraine Gilliland, made this nifty quilt recently, and my husband snapped a picture of it on his last trip to Spokane.

Isn't it gorgeous? I'm betting she dyed all the colored parts, as well as designing and piecing the quilt. I think she usually has someone else do the actual quilting, but since this one's smaller, maybe not... Lori? Are you out there? Care to comment?

(Edited to correct orientation.)

Yes I dyed the fabric, designed, made, AND quilted it. The quilting was done with multicolored metallic thread with variable spacing between the rows to suggest pulses of energy. Btw the small yellow spiral part should be in the upper position. I called this "the cosmic egg".

I love your new shawl. Did you have trouble blocking it?
