Plenty of good stuff
Oct. 9th, 2008 05:21 pmMy kids have been wonderful bright spots in the challenging days lately. Cord is having a great time in Japan (you ARE following his journal, right? Please comment if you are... he thinks nobody's reading it); Julia seems to be kicking some serious butt at Clark; Clay is drumming up a storm and enjoying life; and Linc has been a lot of fun.
The other day, he saw a photo of some cupcakes in the newspaper I was reading, and he asked to make some.
( So we did. Cut for photos. )
Today, he snipped off a chunk of hair at his left temple, and now is sporting a self-inflicted mullet. He also helped clean up his room, and has been reciting favorite lines from Sheep in a Jeep ("Oh, dear! The driver sheep forgets to steer! bump-adump-adump-blorp! Sheep weep!").
Tomorrow, we're off to Lincoln to see the children's museum (especially the Rhoades sculpture) and to collect our friend Bill (the Berry half of Team Rootberry) for a visit, and maybe hit a geocache or two on the way.
Other good things: Wii Fit, the weather, a new local juggling club, clearing a space for crafting, meditating, my Gerbera daisies and Lantana bushes still blooming, tapioca pudding with a whole vanilla bean, friends who bring me truckloads of vanilla beans, fivethirtyeight.com, The Daily Show and the Colbert Report, knitting things for other people, and new reading glasses on the way.
