in other news... lincoln rolled from back to front today for the first time! he did it twice, got tired and is now napping. it's hard work being a baby!

on the way home from church (unitarian, in case you're wondering) today, julia and i saw a pedestrian get hit. i saw him start running against the light and sure enough, a sedan bumped into him. not very fast, fortunately, and i think he was drunk so he seemed more confused than in pain, but he might have gotten his left femur or hip broken. i left an old blanket i've been carrying in the car for that purpose covering him, gave my card to the driver (she was pretty shaken up, but she wasn't at fault at all), and left... there were quite a few cars there that were blocking the intersection and i didn't see anymore we could do to help the poor dude. hope he's ok.

clayton's party went great. the cake was yummy, the kids all played together nicely, linc snoozed for a bunch of it, and clay got a bunch of new magic cards. bill was sort of AWOL during it but he does that sometimes. if i chased him out and asked him to do something, he'd do it, but then he'd vanish again. oh well. he redeemed himself by watching the baby so i could take a two-hour nap later, and it was some of the deepest, most restful sleep i've had in months. maybe he'll do it again today? hope hope hope...
